13. Ebb/Flood Channel Bars

Location	263035; 275025; 275995. Major bends in the main tidal channel.
Access:	Boat.
Significant Features:	At the three localities elongated channel bars have developed in response to ebb and flood tidal currents. The orientation and elongation of the bars can be used as a basis for determining relative strengths or dominance of ebb and flood currents.
Significance Level:	Local. The bars are typical of subaqueous features formed in sandy, tidy channels with strong ebb and flood currents.
Management Issues:	No management difficulties are evident.
Research & Monitoring Requirements:	Mapping from aerial photographs.
Public Interpretation Possibilities:	Not applicable although information on channel positions would be of value to boaters.
