Bet Bet Landscape Zones
Biodiversity Landscape Zones
Landscape Zones are the practical planning units used in Bioregional Biodiversity Strategies. They are the units used to specify local goals for native biodiversity. Each zone captures areas of common vegetation types and landscape characteristics, and provides an intermediate planning scale between Bioregions and property scale. It is at the landscape scale that many ecological processes occur and therefore this is a useful level at which to plan for maintenance of these processes and conservation of biodiversity. They also provide a manageable size in which to work, and are more readily recognised or identified by local communities.

Landscape Zones are shown on this map and can be clicked on to reveal information on:
Landscape Plans, Practitioner Reports and Local Area Biodiversity Plans that relate to each of these zones. Information is not yet finalised for all these areas but will be made downloadable as it becomes available.
