This Landscape Plan is for the Bairnsdale Foothills Zone within the East Gippsland Lowlands bioregion. The East Gippsland Lowlands bioregion is located in the far east of Victoria covering 535,477 ha (2.4% of Victoria). It stretches from Stockdale in the west to Cape Howe in the east and includes coastal plains and dunes, river valleys and floodplains and undulating foothills. The northern boundary is where these foothills become steeper and the vegetation, geology and climate changes whilst the East Gippsland coastline forms the southern boundary for much of the bioregion
