This document is a Landscape Plan for the Gembrook Zone, which is one of 8 zones within the Highlands-Southern Fall bioregion. The pre-European vegetation of this bioregion can be classified into 3 dominant Ecological Vegetation Classes (EVC) – Dry Forests, Wet or Damp Forests and Lowland Forests. Native vegetation covers approximately 80% of the Highlands-Southern Fall bioregion. This is a significant coverage compared to other bioregions. Part of the reason for this is that much of the land is protected in parks or reserves and that much of the vegetation on hilly terrain would have been spared from clearing operations due to difficulty of access.
