State of the Art on Irrigation Farms

Significant change is occurring in the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District (GMID). Irrigators are faced with irrigation system modernisation, Commonwealth Government water buy back and on-farm infrastructure programs, changed farming systems, new irrigation technologies, increased sophistication in water markets, extended dry periods and floods.

Irrigators are innovating in order to adapt and to remain profitable.

These case studies aim to help irrigators to learn from other farmers who have successfully implemented on-farm innovations in the GMID in order to make informed decisions, fast track adaptation to new conditions, minimise their risks and maximise benefits.

We hope you find these case studies useful.
