Common Name:

Soursob, Sourgrass

Status:

Restricted in the Mallee, North Central, Wimmera, Glenelg-Hopkins, Corangamite, Port Phillip & Westernport (East and West), Goulburn Broken, North East, West Gippsland and East Gippsland CMAs.

Habitat:

Subhumid and semi-arid warm-temperate to subtropical regions, principally on heavier, fertile, well-drained soils and preferably in frost-free areas (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992). It is a weed of gardens, orchards, cereal crops and pastures (Parsons and Cuthbertson 1992). Soursob invades dry coastal vegetation, heathland and heathy woodland, lowland grassland and grassy woodland, dry sclerophyll forest and woodland, riparian vegetation and rock outcrop vegetation (Carr
et al 1992).
