Photo: The Gembrook Kurth Kiln
The Gembrook Kurth Kiln is a large charcoal kiln built by the Forests
Commission in 1941. The only kiln of this design, Kurth Kiln
operated until 1945 making charcoal as an alternative fuel.
The kiln buildings are still standing in a forest
picnic ground near Gembrook.
