opened in 1926, employing about twelve men.

On the right of the plant are vats for steaming eucalyptus leaves. On the
left is the boiler for raising steam. The plant produced about one ton of
oil per week.

Steaming
eucalyptus leaves at the Forests Commission's Distillery, Wellsford, near
Bendigo. The leaves are packed tightly and steamed to release the eucalyptus
oil. The oil is then cooled in a condenser.
