The Government Dairy display, Royal Melbourne Show c. 1908. A working dairy was first introduced to the show in the 1880s as part of the Government's promotion of the dairy industry. The 1908 display focused on butter and cheese making. In 1955, the dairy exhibit demonstrated milk pasteurization and bottling.
